Please find attached a roundup of our Burgundy 2013 En Primeur
campaign. Following a visit to Beaune in October where we packed in tastings at as many of our favourite Domaines as possible, we are filled with enthusiasm for these energetic wines. The reds are approachable, elegant and terroir specific and the whites were a revelation, reminiscent of young 2007s, precise, bright and brimming with character. In the frenzy that is Burgundy En Primeur, whilst people jostle for their Grand Cru and tiny production 1er cru allocation, sometimes the villages wines are forgotten. This is where some of the gems hide and value can be found. There is plenty here from a host of appellations and top winemakers, so give them a look over. As always, let us know if you have any questions. Jean-Marie Fourrier coined the vintage perfectly “a difficult birth, but a beautiful baby”.
